Besides the now familiar video-conferencing tools, such as Zoom, our COIL projects make an innovative use of the metaverse, a virtual world where people can engage in various types of social interaction, and an application that links learning outcomes in the field with a geographic information system (GIS), a mix of online applications that is rare in Japan.
