Student Advisory and Counseling CenterOur staff includes clinical psychologists and public psychologists, who work as student consultation coordinators and provide support for handicapped students, as well as dedicated office personnel. We help students to take the first step towards solving problems and learning how to enjoy a fulfilling university life.Student DormitoriesShinshu University has 8 student dormitories. Komakusa Dormitory is for first-year students, while Shisei Dormitory, Shisei Women’s Dormitory, Fugaku Dormitory, Tsumashina (Akebono) Dormitory, Wakasato Dormitory,Chugen Dormitory and Shuki Dormitory are available tostudents in the second year of their course and above.Support for International StudentsShinshu University has international student residences in Matsumoto and Nagano, which are available for lower rents than private apartments. Scholarships include those sponsored by the government and private scholarship organizations, as well as scholarships provided by the University itself. There is also a tutoring system that provides support for international students with both their education/research and their day-to-day life.Extracurricular ActivitiesAt each of the campuses and faculties located throughout Nagano Prefecture, students participate in numerous extracurricular activities, and about 240 student clubs and organizations are registered with the University. With a participation rate of over 80%, the first-year students in particular pursue these activities with enthusiasm and commitment alongside their academic studies.In 2023, the capacity of the Komakusa and Tsumashina dorms was reduced by half in order to pre-vent the spread of COVID-19.TOPICSCampus Life
